Biography

• born 1947 in Murnau (Bavaria).
• Writer, filmmaker, radio journalist, editor.
• Several books on Native American resistance in North America.
• Since 1973 frequent travels to indigenous nations of Canada and the USA; strong relationsships with the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) and Cree (of Quebec).
• Collaborator of Rainer Wittenborn in the mixed-media exhibition
• "A River Drowned by Water" (about the James Bay Cree) which traveled the world for 10 years.
• Initiator of the World Uranium Hearing, 1992 in Salzburg, Austria.
• Director of the Nuclear-Free Future Award, founded in 1998 (this annual award honors outstanding people who fight for a future without nuclear weapons and nuclear energy).
• Lecturer at the German School for Journalism, Munich.
• Member of the advisory board of the "Society for Threatened Peoples"
• (an NGO with consultative status at the UN)
